Elizabeth and Mary are today’s heroes because they show us the gift of Motherhood
Essential Teachers notes:
The of Christmas is often done in many parts, the birth of John the Baptist, the annunciation, the journey to Bethlehem, the shepherds account, and later the wise men and Anna and Simeon. All these parts are hugely important but this story wraps up the first two into one, giving those teachers who have a more hectic Christmas schedule a little breathing room. If you wish to split the story then this story probably works better for Elizabeth than Mary.
Main Passage : Luke 1

Elizabeth & Mary (Luke 1) | Games
The heroes in this story are Elizabeth and Mary. This lesson is written for those of us who don’t necessarily have 4 or 5 weeks of Christmas story teaching time, often because other Christmas events and special services take our time.
I went to Elizabeth’s – Version of ‘I went to grandma’s and took with me…’ The first child completes the sentence with an item, then second child repeats phrase ‘I went to Elizabeth’s and took with me…’ the first child’s item and adds their own. Continues adding items to the list until someone forgets one or more of the items. End the game by saying Mary went to Elizabeth’s and took with her a tiny little baby growing in her tummy.

October 2nd Update
Due to health issues this site will be updated as and when it can be. The bi-daily postings will resume later in October.
Many apologies for the idle status of the site. If you are waiting for new material. (feeling better so slowly starting)
The Philip lesson posts are done and future posts will be backdated for those who take 2 lessons a month from the site.
It is not unusual for me to be running approximately 2 posts behind.
Philip & Ethiopian (Acts 8) | Worksheet
This worksheet about Philip and the Ethiopian is suitable for those of school age children to work on in pairs of small groups, or for a group of any age to work on as a large group. The worksheet is designed to be printed in colour but will work well in grey scale.
The sheet consists of three areas, a discussion about how to share what you believe, a maze to work on in alone or during the discussion, and the biblical passage the Ethiopian was reading. The sheet would be a good filler activity and probably shouldn’t take more than a few minutes of the lesson.
The PDF can be downloaded by clicking on the image.
