After a slow start it’s grown and grown – 39,000+ page views later, by over 7 thousand unique visitors, we celebrate the first year with a new front page, a new look newsletter and the full crowd of Biblical heroes!
| Josiah lessons usually have a scroll craft, there are loads of these on-line so I thought I’d do something different! This is a simple craft to prepare for and great for independent learners. The discovery of the scroll of the Law was not something they were looking for, just something that came into their path, but changed everything. This marble maze has only one path – form the star to the scroll – because when we reach the scroll everything changes! This craft can be done in two ways, one uses drinking straws, the other is a purely paper construction. |

This worksheet about Josiah is a mixed discussion starter, numbers quiz, and bible verse. The sheet is designed to do in small groups, but if needed could be done alone. It is designed for able readers, but would be ok for older children as a quick padding activity. For younger children you may want to discuss the first activity as a big group, perhaps even print the top of the sheet up large and start by identifying the objects, the remaining activities would depend on the group you had.

The book of 2 kings is not usually where one starts in teaching kids about biblical heroes, but amongst the horrors of the kids of Israel there comes this chapter about a child who is made king, a king who rules for many years, comparatively, and a king who brings the people back to god. It’s a wonderful tale and one really worth exploring. While this story happens when the king has about 26, it plays heavily on the childhood element.
