Gaius (3 John) | Craft 2

This second paper craft linked to Gaius’ lesson is a visual reminder that we leave a legacy with the people we meet. After the pop-up envelopes fiddly construction, this is a bid to make something interactive, but much simpler, for the younger ones.

I’ve provided the template partially coloured so the children can finish colouring or you can print in grey scale. This craft is best done with a touch of preparation beforehand.

Gaius (3 John) | Craft

This is a really lovely craft to show off to parents and friends at the end of the session, once complete the children seem to walk out with just an envelope, but inside a little pop up scene of Gaius receiving the letter from John appears.

This craft is a little delicate to construct, so not suitable for very young children. I would recommend printing in colour so children can take more time and care in cutting and construction. While the cuts don’t have to be exact, the more accurate the scissor work and folding, the better the card will operate.

Gaius (3 John) | Worksheet

Gaius
Gaius has a hefty worksheet that encompasses quite a few elements found in John’s 3rd letter. I’d say it is a worksheet designed for independent readers working in small groups. It could be worked through as a whole group, but each child would need a sheet of their own. The worksheet looks more closely at the clues we have to Gaius’ character, gives us a puzzle to solve, and imagines the letter being written for us. The sheet ends with a verse to ponder and discuss.

To complete this worksheet the children will need 3 colouring pencils or pens, something to write with and a bible.
