John the Baptist (Matthew 3) | Craft 1

John the Baptist, the great voice calling out, is a picture of humility. He knows that even untying the sandals of Jesus is above his station. This craft makes a sandal from a single sheet of paper. It’s a good craft for school children, though it can be a little time-consuming to cut the intricate shape.

To make this craft, you will need the 1-page template printout, scissors, a stapler, a standard sized hole punch and some string, ribbon, or wool.

Cut out the shape.

Punch a hole where each cross indicates.

Fold up each tab that is connected to the base.

Staple the back of the sandal’s heal together.

Finally, grab your thread and thread your sandal.
